Muffin the Mule, by Neville Main 1951

Neville Main was a regular comic artist on the British magazine T.V. Comic. T.V. Comic was published by Beaverbrook, TV and finally, Polystyle. It lasted until 1984, and racked up a grand total of 1,697 issues. Starting in 1951, Neville Main contributed not only the comic 'Muffin the Mule', after the popular TV string puppet, but later also 'Four Feather Falls', 'Doctor Who', and 'Fireball XL5'. In addition, he drew 'Larry The Lamb' for T.V. Land. Neville Main is also known as the illustrator of 'Jimmy', a series of landscape format-shaped books, published by Brokhampton Press between 1948 and 1958.
