'Terra Brasilis'.
Maxx was born in 1973 in São Paulo and began his career in plastic arts in 1983. He has done illustrations for several propaganda agencies. In 1992, he worked for TV Cultura in the special effects team of Castela Rá-Tim-Bum and Glub Glub. In 1996, he terminated his Radio and Television courses, and exhibited in the Museo de Arte Brasileño and with the Ornotorrinco theater group. In the mid-1990s, he started out as a cartoonist in Folha da Tarde and Lance!. Maxx has done cartoons, caricatures, comics and storyboards for magazines and newspapers like Folha de S. Paulo, Agora and A Gazeta Esportiva, but also for cinema companies like 02, DM9 and Filmmakers. He has made comics for Heavy Metal, Edição Especial-Brazil, Audio-Sexy and Front, and illustrations for Caros Amigos, Sexy, and Viver Psicologia. He is the creator of the characters 'Betty Grupy' and 'Engrenas'. He lives and works in Lisbon.
