'Kangaroo & Kangaroo'.
James McMullan is a (children's book) illustrator and poster artist from New York. Born in Tsingtao, North China, into a family of Irish immigrants, McMullan and his mother emigrated to the USA when he was 17. He attended the Pratt Institute in New York City and started out illustrating book jackets. He also illustrated for magazines like Esquire and Sports Illustrated. He was also one of the core artists of New York Magazine.
In 1967 he contributed 'Kangaroo & Kangaroo' to the McNaught Syndicate feature 'Children's Tales'. He made a contribution to 'The Beatles' Illustrated Lyrics Book' (Macdonald Unit 75, 1969). He has illustrated many of his wife Kate's children's books, starting with 'The Noisy Giant's Tea Party'. Since the mid-1970s McMullan has also been illustrating Broadway posters.
