David Messina is a comic book artist from Rome, who has worked for US publishers. Since 2005, he has illustrated comics based on the television series 'Angel' for IDW Publishing (scripts by Jeff Mariotte), including 'Doyle: Spotlight', 'The Curse', 'Smile Time' and 'Old Friends'. He also illustrated the 'Star Trek' comics 'Intelligence Gathering' and 'Star Trek: Countdown'. In 2010, he started working on a comics version of the TV series 'True Blood', together with writers David Tischman and Mariah Huehner.
Messina has additionally done erotic comics for Kiss Magazine and the Spanish publisher Ediciones La Cúpula. He has been teaching art at the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Rome since 2002.
