Alain Michaud is best known for the comic series 'Pépés Flingueurs', that appeared in Spirou in the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Versailles, he studied arts in at Penninghen. After his education, he ventured into the field of comics with Daniel Cozian. Michaud was nineteen years old when 'Tom', his first page, was published in Vaillant. He made several one-page gags for this magazine until 1966. For Tartinet, he created the series 'Les Aventures de Machin et Truc' in collaboration with Cozian and Rob.
He started working for Spirou in 1966, where he started the series 'Pépés Flingueurs' with Jacques Lecamus. He continued the series on his own, starting in 1971. He additionally created 'Mr Hoquet' for Total Journal in 1967. Later on, Alain Michaud mainly occupied himself with photography, journalism, books and some comics projects.
