Jerry A. Mills was the creator of the gay comic strip 'Poppers', about the promiscuous behavior of the muscular Billy. It first appeared in April 1982 in the adult magazine In Touch for Men, where Mills worked at the subscriptions department. Mills and his comic moved over to Advocate Men later on, and it was also published in France and Japan, and in the comic book Gay Comix. In addition to his strip, Mills also made cartoons and contributed a story to the first 'Meatmen' anthology. He passed away in January 1993, from complications associated with HIV infection.
