Zivorad Mitrovic is a famous film director and scriptwriter. He began his career making comics, during the 1930s. He made stories like 'Hajduk Veljko' and 'Junaci Pavlove Ulice' for Mika Miš magazine. He also worked for Zabavnik Mika Misa and Paja Patak, until World War II ended the Yugoslav comic scene. He began directing in 1946, and became known as one of the most productive Yugoslav directors. Among his film projects are 'Kapetan Lesi' (1960) and the war epics 'Mars na Drinu' (1964) and 'Uzicka Republika' (1974).
