Suzue Miuchi is known for her serial 'Garasu no Kamen' ('Mask of Glass'), about a young stage actress, published in Hana to Yume since 1976. Miuchi debuted in Margaret while still in Osaka Seikei High School in 1967. Among her early works are 'Akai Megami' ('The Red Goddess') and 'Moeru Niji' ('The Burning Rainbow'). She was one of the pioneers of 1970s shoujo manga, making stories ranging from high school comedies to adventure and romances with historical settings. Her output during this decade include '13-Gatus no Higeki', 'Harukanaru Kaze to Hikari' and 'Majo Media'. She also worked in the horror genre, as can be seen in 'Shiroi Kageboshi' ('The White Silhouette'). She is the winner of the Kodansha Manga Award (1982) and the Japan Cartoonists Association Award (1995).
