Born in Paris, Patrick Moerell made his comics debut in Québec, where he lived for several years. He contributed political stories to the Montréal magazine Prisme. In the 1980s, his work appeared in Titanic and Croc-Hebdo. He became one of the regular artists of Fluide Glacial in 1987 and he remained with this magazine until his death. His absurd semi-autobiographical comics of everyday life have been collected in the albums 'Ou la Cuisse?' (1989), 'Vise l'Ampleur!' (1991), 'Trot c'est Trop!' (1992), 'Noce à Moelle' (1999), and 'La Boule à Zorro' (2002).
