Born in Pisa, Paolo Montecchi debuted at the publishing house Torelli with 'Cuore Crociato' and 'Slim Ragazzo d'Acciaio'. He subsequently began a collaboration with his brother Piero, which lasted for many years. Through a press agency, he worked for Fleetway in Britain on series like 'Johnny Nero'. For the French market, he drew for Jiffe et Pitt. In Italy, he illustrated the comics advertising campaign for Colgate toothpaste, as well as many (cover) illustrations and episodes of 'Batman' and 'Superman' for Mondadori. He created many series for Casa Editrice Universo. In L'Intrepido, he drew 'La Poivra d'Argento' and 'Edizioni Straordinaria', and in Il Monello, he produced 'Laramy della Valle' and 'La Folgora'.
