Gabriel Morrissette was born in Val d'Or in the province of Quebec, but moved to Montreal in the late 1970s. There, he studied at the Concordia University and began his career in the comics field. He teamed up with writer Mark Shainblum and co-created the Canadian superhero 'Northguard' in 1984. In 1995, Morrissette and Shainblum co-created 'Angloman', a comic series that utilized superheroes to satirize the politics of Quebec and Canada.
Northguard
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he drew for various Canadian humor magazines, such as Croc, Safarir and Anormal. He has also worked on American comic books by Marvel and DC, such as 'Doc Savage', 'New Titans', 'Spider-Man 2099' and 'Ragman'. He has also worked with Ty Templeton on the 'Planet of the Apes' comic books by MR Comics. Morrissette is furthermore active in the animation field.
