Takashi Murakami is a prolific author of graphic novels in Japan. He works mainly in the "seinen" (young man) genre, but he has also made comedies and "slice-of-life" works. He made his debut in 1985 with 'Le paresseux regardait!' ('The lazy is watching') in the magazine Young Jump. Among his best-known stories are 'Tengoku de Pon!' ('Pon in heaven!'), 'Namakemono ga Mata Miteta' ('The lazy is still watching'), 'Paji' and 'Hoshi Mamoru Inu' ('Stargazing Dog'). He is also the author of several anime series on the national channel NHK.
Note that this manga artist is not the same artist and the internationally known fine artist Takashi Murakami.
