Michael Netzer began his career in Detroit, where he designed ads for local businesses and did paintings. In 1975, at the age of seventeen, he graduated from the Wayne State University and moved to New York. There he found a job as an illustrator and artist drawing not only 'Batman', 'Wonder Woman' and 'Spider-Man' for DC Comics and Marvel, but also illustrating storyboards, animatics, magazine and book illustrations, animations and television pre-production materials.

In 1983 Netzer moved to Israel where he published Israel's first full-scale comic book called 'Uri-On'. The story sought to give an Israeli-Jewish context to an American Superman who was defending his ancient homeland against invasion of extraterrestrials. The hero is called Uri-On meaning 'Light and Power' and his emblem is the Menorah, the Israeli national symbol.

Netzer has adopted digital tools and expanded his professional base into web & multimedia production, digital illustration and animation. In January 2000 Netzer teamed up with Sofia Fedorov to establish a visual media production studio called Netzart Fedorov Media.
