Jan Nieuwenhuys was the artist of a 1945 picture booklet about our Canadian liberators in the Netherladns. It was published as a New Year's gift by advertising agency Delamar in Amsterdam. Nieuwenhuys also drew a 1948 comic book published by the NIWIN, a healthcare organization for the Dutch in the East Indies (nowadays Indonesia). It was called 'Hier en Daarginds', and tells the story of a soldier and his encounters in the islands of the Dutch East Indies during the Indonesian revolution.
