Jakob Nilsson showed an early interest in comics and together with some friends, he published his own fanzine, Cornflakes, in the early 1980s. In 1996 he graduated from Konstfack (University college of Arts, Crafts and Design) where he studied graphic design and illustration for four years.
Since graduation he has worked at various advertising agencies as an Art Director. In May 2011 he his his job and is now working full time with his own studio as a freelance designer, illustrator and comics creator.
In 2008 his first graphic novel, 'Roparen', was published. It is based on a book by the popular Swedish crime novelist Stieg Trenter (1917-1967). Because of the book's success, he began working on a follow-up featuring the same character, 'Harry Friberg', while also working other comics projects. He lives and works in Stockholm.
