J. Edward Oliver was an an artist whose work appeared in both Fleetway and D.C. Thomson comic books of the 1970s and 1980s. Born in Dartford, Kent, he worked in the GLC Vehicle Licesing Department for 8 years, before beginning his artistic career. He published his first work in Disc and Music Echo.
By 1977, he went to work for the publications of IPC. He created 'Cliff Hanger' and 'Master Mind' for Buster, as well as 'The Champ', and did contributions to Whizzer & Chips, Buster and Whoopee until the 1990s. His other work includes 'Blunder Girl' in Penny, 'The Teeny Sweeny' and 'Robin Good' in Jackpot.
