Although he always wanted to be an architect, André Osi took courses in comics by Claude Renard and François Schuiten at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. He began his professional career doing short stories for Tintin (text by Yves Duval). He also drew several stories for Hello Bédé. He then teamed up with writer Pascal Renard and began the 'Horizon Blanc' (1993-1997) series at Lombard.
Between 2009 and 2018 Osi published a biographical comic book series about Napoleon Bonaparte, for which he not only provided the artwork, but also the script and research. The 'Napoléon' series was published by P&T Production and were translated in Dutch as well. It was Osi's ambition to chronicle Napoleon's vivid life in 15 comic book albums. Unfortunately he only managed to complete five titles before his untimely death in 2021, at age 62.
