Becky Palmer was born in Cambridge into a large family. She spent her childhood traveling: Germany, Holland and Scotland. She eventually returned to Cambridge, where she studied Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University. She later became a teacher at this University. Since 2012, she is co-editor of LOAF, a magazine for children containing work by new illustrators and authors. She self-published a comic called 'Sneeze Thief' in 2014 and her story 'The Biggest Helping' was first released as 'La Soupière Magique' by the French publishing house Sarbacane. It is an adaptation of a folktale about a magic porridge pot that floods a town with porridge.
