José Palop Gomez began his career in 1942, drawing for the newspaper Jornada. He was one of the regular artists for the juvenile magazines Jaimito (1940s) and Pumby (1960s and 1970s) magazines. His main creations in Jaimito were 'Bartolo as de los vagos', 'Robertín en niño millonario', 'Robinson Pérez', 'Sherlock Pómez', 'Invisible Man', 'Oscar', 'Los Hunos y los Otros', 'El barón de la Mojama', 'El Abuelito' and various joke pages. For Pumby, he created the gag series 'Tarzanete y Bombón', 'Becerrín y Cuqui', 'Yupi', 'El Rey Leoncio', 'Biki' and 'Payasete y Fu-Chinin'.
