Angelo Platania illustrated several stories published in Albi Economici del Mistero from 1949. He then worked for Razzo and began a long collaboration with Erio Nicolò. With scripts by Gianluigi Bonelli, he illustrated 'L'Uomo di Yuma' (1959) and 'Capitan Tuono', published in Frontiera in 1962. In 1966, he drew 'Petite Poupee' for Cervinia.
