M. Cyber, by Jacques Poirier

Jacques Poirier was a French illustrator and painter, who has also drawn comic strips for the press. For France-Soir he produced the newspaper comic 'M. Cyber' (315 strips), followed by 'Les Nouvelles Aventures de M. Cyber' (320 strips, 1966-67). This comic was collected in a book by publisher Eric Losfeld in 1969. Poirier is most likely the artist behind the pseudonyms J. Visconti and Philippe Marçais, the creators of respectively 'Troun le Gardian' (1963) and 'Du Rififi au Proche-Orient' (1963) in France-Soir, as well as 'La Dernière des Sheridan' (1970-71). Poirier illustrated for the Hachette collections Bibliothèque Verte and Idéal Bibliothèque and worked in advertising. Later on in his career, Poirier turned to painting, working in the realistic "Trompe l'Oeil" style.
