Flippie Flink by Robert Louis RaemaekersFlippie Flink by Robert Raemaekers Jr.
Flippie Flink from 30 January 1935 and 26 September 1936

Robert Louis Raemaekers Jr. was the son of famous World War I cartoonist Louis Raemaekers (1869-1956). His father created the daily one-panel text comic 'Flippie Flink' with Clinge Dorenbos, that was published in De Telegraaf between November 1933 and July 1938. Raemaekers Sr. is mostly credited as the illustrator of the strip, but most of the artwork was handled by his son from October 1934, as can be seen from the signature "RJr".

Although the name of Robert Louis is mentioned in some of the advertisements for the book publications, his contribution has mostly remained anonymous. Writer Doorenbos has always mentioned in interviews and in his memoires that Raemaekers Sr. was his fellow author. Robert Raemaekers passed away from injuries he suffered during a car accident in 1965.
