Jacques Raes is a Belgian comic book artist, who has mainly drawn comics on commission in the Charleroi area. These include several books in dialect with writer Jean Goffart, such as 'Les avinteures des droles di zebes' (1983), 'On cokea å solea' (1989) and 'Les avinteures da Ray Hure' (2000). Other creations are two comics about the city of Charleroi for publisher Willy Seron (in 1987 and 1994), the album 'Carole Trophy' with Bernard Goethals for Espace Conseil (1990), the environmental comic 'I.C.D.I.' with Lucien Cariat for Procultura (1993), and 'Bip a la decouverte de l'Hôpital' for the Montignies medical school in Sambres. He has also written several scripts for Arthur Piroton's 'Jess Long' series, that ran in Spirou magazine.
