Emil Reinicke was an early German comics artist. He was born in 1859 in Zerbst and studied at the Academies of Dresden and Munich in 1876-1882. He drew for among others Fliegende Blätter and Müncher Bilderbogen. His work was published in such books as 'Lustiges aus der Thierwelt' (1900) and 'Für Kinder, die gern Lachen' (1910), which appeared at the publishing house Braun & Schneider.
