Aaron Renier was born and raised in Green Bay Wisconsin, and went to art school in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He has always drawn comics, making school papers and his own mini comics. He eventually settled in Portland, Oregon, and made his first comic book for Top Shelf, called 'Spiral-Bound'. He later went back to Brooklyn, New York, where he began working on his next project, 'The Unsinkable Walker Bean'. He was the recipient of the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Talent Deserving Wider Recognition in 2005, and was nominated for the best Children's Album Eisner in both 2005 and 2011. He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
