comic art by Jonathon Rosen

Jonathon Rosen studied electronic music, printmaking, painting and color-separation at various city and state colleges in Los Angeles. His work includes illustration, painting, printmaking, and computer animation. There is a constant crossover and migration of images between mediums. After finishing college Rosen worked seven years as a fine-art editions printmaker for several master printers in Los Angeles. In 1990 Rosen's first book came out, called 'Intestinal Fortitude'. Jonathon drew for magazine Blab, as well.
Rosen also drew for companies like Sony, Oxford Review, New Scientist, Redhot productions, Pink pages, RCA records, Art & Architecture magazine, New York Times, Strapazin, MTV and Time magazine. In 1995 he won an award for best illustration by Society of Publication Designers and in 1999 he won the Artist-in-residence award at Harvestworks.
