A self-taught artist, Rossano Rossi began his career in the mid-1980s in magazines like Intrepido Raid and Splatter. He joined Bonelli in 1994, where he started out illustrating several episodes of 'Mister No'. He illustrated the series 'La Stirpe di Elän' and 'Magic Patrol' in Zona X. He eventually joined the staff of 'Jonathan Steele'.
