De Higgs Boson Verwarring (GEEKchic comic)
Rotterdam-based comic artist Kenny Rubenis has self-published several mini-comics since 2005. These include 'Prins Banaan', 'Wraak van de suikerspin', 'Casino & boerenwit' and 'Cullum Tales'. His webcomic 'Kenny's not zo amazingly boring comic' ran until 2007 and was nominated for a Clickie in the category Best Epic Webcomic by the Clickburg Foundation in 2007.
Balthazar Poeski (2009)
He was Jean-Marc van Tol's assistant for many years on his work for Eppo, MYX and TV show 'De Wereld Draait Door'. Van Tol's publishing house Catulus published Kenny's solo comic 'Balthazar Poeski' in 2009.
He joined forces with Aimée de Jongh in 2011 and has published mini-comics like 'Robin & Flip', 'Dating for Geeks' and the so-called 'GEEKchic' series under the Amazing & Uncanny Comics imprint since then. His comic strip 'Dating for Geeks' is published in free daily newspaper Sp!ts from January 2014, and in Metro from October of that year. Book collections appear at Strip2000.
In 2020 he joined 75 Dutch & Flemish comic artists to make a graphic contribution to the free collective comic book ‘Striphelden versus Corona’ (Oogachtend, Uitgeverij L, 2020). The book is intended to support comics stores who had to close their doors for two months during the lockdown at the height of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
