Ron Ruelle studied at the University of Tennessee. He made his debut as a comic artist when his daily strip was published in the student newspaper. He graduated in advertising in 1988 and attended the Portfolio Center in Atlanta. He became an advertising artist, doing lost of artistic jobs on the side. In 1995, his strip 'At the Zu' was picked up by Creator's Syndicate and started appearing in newspapers. It ran untiel June 1998, but continued in underground publications as the spin-off 'Darwin & Co.'.
