Ralph Ruthe is a German cartoonist, comic strip artist, filmmaker and musician. Born in Bielefeld, Ruthe began working as text writer for 'Käpt'n Blaubär' (Honk-Studios) and 'Mike, der Taschengeldexperte' (advertising strip for the VR Bank) at the age of 14. He published in such magazines as Computer BILD, Neue Revue, Westdeutsche Allgemeinen Zeitung, Comic Speedline and most notably, the German MAD magazine.

He created the children's series 'Frühreifen' in 1988. Carlsen Verlag published several collections of his work, such as 'Nur die Liebe Zahlt', the 'Frühreifen and the 'Schweinskram' series. His work for MAD and Computer BILD is collected in the series 'Ruthe-Report' at Panini Verlag. Since 2003 he draws the cartoon series 'Shit Happens!' for many magazines and newspapers in Europe.
