Ray Salmon was born in Akron, Colorado, and attended several art schools and colleges. He has a BA/MA in Music and Fine Art from UNC. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1960. He has worked as a college instructor and as an illustrator and cartoonist for textbooks and magazines. Salmon made the syndicated daily strip 'The Little Man' between 1979 and 2002.
