Fernando Jorge Santos Costa was born in Lisbon, in 1951. He has been regular contributor to Portuguese magazines and newspapers like Mundo de Aventuras, O Crime and O Diabo. He worked was an illustrator and comic artist and he also illustrated several books, including 'Os Avós e os Netos'.
Santos Costa is the only Portuguese illustrator of Emilio Salgari novels ('A Formosa Judia'). He is the author of the comic books 'Lendas da Meda', 'Lendas de Aguiar da Beira', 'A Viúva do Enforcado', 'D. Egas Moniz, o Aio', 'As Bodas de D. Dinis', 'Registos Criminais' and 'Bandarra'.
He published a weekly strip in the Lisbon weekly O Crime about the history of portuguese bandits and criminals, such as the regicide of the king Carlos I.
