Juan Sarompas was born in Malaga. In 1970 he published the humorous series 'Pepe, el Cámara' in El Cuco, the supplement of the Madrid newspaper Pueblo. He mostly known for his work for foreign publishers, through studios like Comicon. In the 1970s he and Josep Gual were the illustrators of 'Thomas, der Trommler', a comic written by Peter Wiechmann for the German magazine YPS. In the early 1980s, he drew 'Tex et Mex' for Spirou. He was one of the main artists of Semic's 'James Bond' comics in the 1980s.
