Annet Schaap is a Dutch illustrator of children's books. Born in Ochten, she attended the Kampen Art Academy as well as the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Starting in 1988, she has illustrated books by such writers as Francine Oomen, Jacques Vriens, Mieke van Hooft, Liesbeth van der Jagt and Thea Dubelaar. In the 1990s Schaap drew comics for Malmberg's magazine Taptoe and its holiday specials. For several years, she was a teacher in playwriting in Arnhem, but since 2000, she is working fulltime as an illustrator. She is the regular illustrator of Francine Oomen's bestseller series 'Hoe Overleef Ik?' since 1998, and her comics also appear in the magazine of the same name. In 2011, she made a comic book diary about her pregnancy, called 'Mama...? Ik?!'.
