Julio Schiaffino is a comic artist from Argentina. He started his comics career drawing 'Bull Rockett' for magazine Misterix. He worked as an assistant to Francisco Solano López on 'El Eternauta', published in Hora Cera Semanal in Oesterheld's publishing house Frontera. He also assisted on 'Joe Zonda', 'Rolo', 'Rul De La Luna', 'El Marcianero', 'Historias de Guerra' and other titles which appeared in the magazines Batallas Involvidables, Frontera, Frontera Extra and Hora Cera Extra. When the work became too much for Solano, Julio Schiaffino took over 'Joe Zunda' and 'El Marcianero'. He also took over another character created by Oesterheld, 'Buster Pike'.

Editorial Frontera quit and became Yago Publishing, and when this editor also came to an end, Schiaffino traveled to Europe in 1977 and worked for publisher Fleetway. One of the comics he did for Fleetway was 'Hot Shot Hamish & Mighty Mouse' (written by Fred Baker), which ran for eighteen years in sports magazines. Using the pseudonym Lourdes, and texts by Barales, he also worked for Sex Humor magazine. He continued his own creation 'Choripán', a football comic published in magazine Olé.
