'The Apprentice', from Hot Stuf, 1974.
Gail Schlesser was an obscure underground comix artist and animator. In 1973 (s)he made a 6 minute animated film named 'Mind-Grain Fantasy' which was shown during the Film Forum in New York City. It was animated in grease-pencil drawings. (S)he also contributed to the 1974 underground comic book 'Hot Stuf' (deliberately spelled with only one 'f'). For this book (s)he illustrated an eight-page story named 'The Apprentice', written, drawn and inked completely by him/herself.
