Hoe Keesje Knabbel Koning Werd (1931)
Nora Schnitzler was a watercolor painter, artist, illustrator and children's book author, born and raised in Amsterdam. After studying at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in the Dutch capital (1919-23), she studied in Germany. There, made several covers and illustrations for Die Kinderwelt. From 1925 to 1941, and some years after the War, she was the illustrator of the children's page of newspaper De Telegraaf. She additionally illustrated for Utrechts Nieuwsblad and Van Houten's Ons Eigen Tijdschrift, as well as children's books and postcards.
She worked under the pseudonym Enni van Laer for the provincial newspapers. Her only comic is the text strip 'Keesje Knabbel', of which a first story was published in De Kinder-courant, a publication of KRO Radio. A second story with 'Keesje Knabbel' was published in bookformat by Fidelitas in 1931.
