Bill Schorr was born in New York City and grew up in Albuquerque and California. He started his comics career as editorial cartoonist for the Kansas City Star in 1973, then switched to the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and eventually returned to the Star. He was staff editorial cartoonist at the New York Daily News from 1997 to 2001.
'Conrad' (1983).
Between 1982 and 1986, Schorr made the strip 'Conrad', syndicated by Tribune Media Services. Since 1987, he also created the strip 'The Grizzwells', about a bear family, through Newspaper Enterprise Association (now Universal Uclick). Another strip by Schorr was 'Phoebe's Place', syndicated by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate in 1990 and 1991. He retired as an editorial cartoonist in March 2009, but returned to the field through Cagle Cartoons, Inc.in August of that year.
