Ascension, by Séraphine

Séraphine Claeys learned the finer points of the comic profession from Claude Renard at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. After graduating, she made her first comics for Le 9e Rêve. In 1980, she collaborated on the backgrounds of 'Les Maîtres du Temps', the animated film by René Laloux and Moebius. While working in the advertising field, she founded Séraphine-Graphics, an agency specializing in communication in comics. Her comic work appeared in the magazines Pilote, Okapi and Je Bouquine. In 1984, she started the series 'Hybrides'. In 1999, Séraphine Claeys created the graphic novel 'Ascension', which was published at Dargaud.
