Tica by Jose Antonio Serna Ramos
Tica (Mortadelo Especial #179, 1984)

José Antonio Serna Ramos was born in Alicante. He studied Fine Arts from 1945 to 1948 and then went to Paris to study painting. He was primarily known as a painter from Valencia, who worked in a cubist, abstract and surrealistic style. In order to make money, he has also illustrated comics in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

He was active in the French comic scene in the late 1950s and early 1960s. After illustrating an album with 'Bicot' ('Perry Winkle') for Azul in 1959 (script by Maric), he drew a couple of comic books for the Société Parisienne d'Édition, such as 'Charlot' (script by Montaubert, 1963) and 'Kokaoh le Petit Indien au Far-West' (1961).

Cucaracho

In Spain he was active for the publisher Bruguera under the pseudonym Jiaser. He created serials like 'Pepe Trola', 'Cucaracho' and 'Tica' and 'Maff y Osso' in cooperation with various scriptwriters. In addition, he drew 'Gulliver' for the German magazine Yps in 1975. He passed away in January 2011.
