Bart Slijp published his work in the Dutch alternative comic magazine De Vrije Balloen, including independent strips and 'De Dokter'. In the mid-1980s, he worked with Toon van Driel on the comic 'De Sukkels', published in Eppo and Eppo/Wordt Vervolgd. He later focused on commercial art and illustration, which has also included advertising comics for companies like Kellogg's and Iglo, printed in magazines like Donald Duck.

Slijp has worked as an illustrator, 3D builder and Flash animator and provided illustrations for story, editorial and marketing content. By 2012, he teamed up with American comedian Richard Weiss to create the comic strip 'Weiss Cracks'.
