Colonel Nightingale, by Stoll
'Colonel Nightingale'. 

Born in Ermont, France, Stoll drew his first comics in the "Carte Blanche" section of Spirou in the mid-1970s. After several of these "try-outs", he started the series 'Colonel Nightingale' in the same magazine in 1981. It appeared occasionally until 1987. In the late 1970s, Stoll also appeared in the Fleurus magazine Fripounet with the gag series about the aliens 'Bing et Boing'. He switched to animated cartoons in the 1990s, doing lay-out and character design. He did some coloring for his wife Claire Bouilhac and some researche work for Catel on the 'Top Linotte' series.
