Lee Sullivan trained as a wildlife and technical illustrator at Barnfield College, then spent five years as a graphic artist for British Aerospace in Stevenage, England. He then became a freelance artist for advertising agencies and magazines, before entering the comics field in 1988.

Sullivan has worked on such titles as 'Transformers' (UK run), 'Thundercats', 'Deathshead', 'RoboCop', 'Blacknight' and 'Doctor Who' for both the British and the American market. Sullivan is also active as an illustrator for educational publications and as a storyboard artist for the BBC.
Sullivan was one of several cartoonists to make a contribution to 'Spitting Image. The Giant Komic Book' (Pyramid Book Ltd & Octopus Publishing Group, 1988), a comic book based on the satirical puppet TV show 'Spitting Image' by Peter Fluck and Roger Law.
