Snake Agent (Frigidaire, 1984)

The Roman artist Stefano Tamburini began his career in 1974, drawing for the underground publication Combinazioni. In 1975 he was part of the Stampa Alternativa group, making various countercultural publications. In 1977 he was present in the first issue of the alternative magazine Cannibale. Together with Tanino Liberatore and Andrea Pazienza, he set up a first version of the underground comic 'Ranxerox'. In 1980 he founded the monthly Frigidaire together with Vincenzo Sparagna and Filippo Scozzari. Tamburini illustrated stories like 'Snake Agent' for the magazine, and also provided a ironical music section under the name Red Vinyle. He was found dead in his apartment in Rome in April 1986.
