Gon, by Masashi Tanaka

Masashi Tanaka made his debut in Morning magazine in 1983. A graduate in Fine Arts, he became very successful with his comic series about the little tyrannosaurus 'Gon'. 'Gon' is a comic series that is sometimes violent, at other times touching. With scrupulous attention to detail, a genuine appreciation for nature's wonders, and an occasionally biting sense of humor, Masashi Tanaka illustrates these wordless stories of Gon's encounters with wild animals throughout the world. Among the stories are 'Gon Gets Electrocuted', 'Gon Has Big Antlers', 'Gon Meets King Bear' and 'Gon Is Very Sleepy'. Gon has been published all around the world.

Tanaka's manga is almost completely dialogue-free, but his dark, detailed line art tells the whole story. His work is characterised by over-the-top action and a black sense of humour. Other creations by Tanaka are 'Flash', the wild west bandit, 'Unidentified Prince Object U.P.O', 'Samurai Daibouken' and 'Bouken Victoria-gou'.
