Charilaos Theodorou was born in Piraeus, in the harbor of Athens. His first job was drawing maps for the Greek airforces. He took courses in drawing and painting from a Russian professor. He moved to Germany in 1957, where he commenced a study at the Art Academy in Munich. While studying, he drew his first stories with Rolf Kauka's 'Fix und Foxi'. He became stage designer upon graduation, doing the sets for among others 'Räuber Hotzenplotz' and the Karl May festivals in Bad Segebert. In 1972, he returned to Fix und Foxi, where he remained until 1993. Since 1991, he has been active as a commercial artist.
