Born in Buenos Aires, Romeo Toffanetti moved with his family to Italy at a young age. He attended the Artistic Grammar School, after which he began to illustrate juvenile educational books. He made his comics debut in the Bonelli magazine Orient Express in 1985. He teamed up with Emmanuel Barison the same year, and created 'Alex il Britanno' in Messaggero dei Ragazzi. He returned to Bonelli in 1989, where he joined the staff of 'Nathan Never'.
