'Barend Barebyt'.
Henk Tol was a draftsman and painter from Midden-Beemster. He found employment with an Amsterdam-based advertising agency after the Second World War, and attended drawing classes from the Rex Art School until 1951. He spent several years in England, where he worked as a photographer and set designer for a while. He made a comic version of 'De Wadders' for Dutch national newspapers based on the KRO radio play by Jan de Cler and Emile Lopez in the mid-1960s. In the Leeuwarder Courant, the comic was published with a Frisian text by Geart Jonkman as 'Bearend Barebyt' from 14 June 1963 until 3 March 1967.
