'El Jueves' #145 (11 March 1980).
The Catalan cartoonist and comic artist Antonio Roca Palacios, who signs with Tom, began his career as an inker with the publishing house Bruguera. Later on, he was co-director of magazines like Mata Ratos and Muchas Gracias and one of the driving forces behind El Jueves. In 1982 he founded his own independent publishing house, Sauce. Tom has also contributed to Barrabás, Bazar, Climax, El Papus, Histeria, Interviú, Muy Interesante, Patufet, Penthouse, Playboy, Por Favor, TBO, Titanic and Vibraciones. He eventually focused on scriptwriting for televison.
Tom should not be confused with Portuguese comic artist Tom (Thomaz de Mello) (1906-1990), nor with German comic artist Tom (A.K.A. Thomas Körner) (1960). Under his full name, Antonio Roca Palacios, he shouldn't be confused with Antonio Hernandez Palacios (1921-1990) either.
