Born in Lyon, Johan Troïanowski studied Fine Arts in Toulon from 2003 to 2006. During his study years, he created the comics magazine Brouillon, and he illustrated poetry books for children. He became president of Ourson Bleu et Lapin Blanc, an association for the promotion of comics. He has participated in comics fanzines like Halbran, Drakkar, Bévue, Glorioasa Fanzina and Helban. In 2009, he launched his first mainstream comic series, 'Rouge', with the publishing house Makaka. In that year, he also launched BOOCHKOOZU, a magazine devoted to silent comics.
His experimental and dreamy comics 'Pome ou les petites choses' and 'Hamour noir' were published by L'Atelier du Poisson Soluble in 2012. For Pluie d'Étoiles, he has made poetry comic bookles like 'Mais en fait, Demain ce n'est pas qu'un adverbe' (with Jean-Louis Troïanowski, 2013) and 'Chercheur d'or' (with Patrick Joquel, 2014).
